If you’ve been following along on TikTok, you already know my brain has been doing the absolute most lately. One day it’s refusing to rest (“Let’s think about everything we’ve forgotten since 2004!”), the next day it’s whispering soft aesthetic wisdom (“It’s okay to be still”), and then once a month it’s like, “Girl… do NOTHING. I mean it.”

So in the spirit of all that chaos, calm, and everything in between… let’s talk about showing up.

🎉 Yesterday Was a Whole Adventure

For my birthday, we went on a scavenger hunt using the Let’s Roam app and explored Wichita Falls like tourists who got lost but were having fun anyway. Then — because why not — we drove to Oklahoma City, hit Round 1, played arcade games like we were 12 again, and ended the night with Zorba’s (because Greek food is a love language).

And yes… we absolutely brought Cheesecake Factory home like responsible adults who know dessert is sacred. My son and husband even surprised me with carrot cake and sang to me, and honestly? My heart was full.

My energy?

Not so much.

By the end of the night, I was one Redbull away from becoming a decorative pillow.

😅 And Then Today Happened

Normally, I write my blog posts the day before.

Normally, I’m prepared.

Normally, I’m not staring at the clock at 5 PM thinking, “Oh no… I still have to be inspirational today.”

But today?

Chaos.

Work was a circus. My brain was a squirrel on espresso. And I didn’t feel like showing up anywhere — not at work, not at home, and definitely not in front of a keyboard.

But here’s the thing I’m learning (slowly, stubbornly, with caffeine):

You can show up tired.

You can show up imperfect.

You can show up with a messy bun, a messy brain, and a messy day… and still give your best effort.

The rewards don’t come from giving up.

They come from showing up — even when you’d rather crawl into bed and let the laundry win.

💛 Why I’m Writing This Anyway

Because if you’re reading this, you might be tired too.

You might be carrying more than you admit.

You might be trying to rest while your brain is hosting a TED Talk.

You might be learning how to slow down without feeling guilty.

You might be taking your one day a month to do absolutely nothing and realizing how badly you needed it.

And I want you to know:

You’re not alone here.

This space — this Sanctuary — is for the busy brains, the tired hearts, the overthinkers, the moms, the humans doing their best with what they’ve got.

I can’t give medical advice.

But I can give you honesty.

I can give you humor.

I can give you a place to land when your brain feels like a browser with 47 tabs open and one of them is playing music but you can’t find which one.

Message me on Facebook anytime.

Comment if something resonates.

Share your chaos or your calm.

We’re building this Sanctuary one day, one post, one tired-but-still-showing-up moment at a time.

Thanks for all the birthday love.

Thanks for reading.

And thanks for showing up — even when it’s hard.

💛 Christal
